This is the report of my battle against von carsteins.

My list is here.

He had:

carstein count, +1 atk sword, 5+ ward save, staff of hellish vigor, lv2 wiz (raise dead, curse of years)
lv2 necro, 1 dispel scroll (raise dead, gaze of nagash)
thrall, +1 to hit sword
thrall
20 skellies (thrall)
25 skellies (count, necro)
25 zombies (thrall)
25 zombies
6 ghouls
6 ghouls
6 ghouls
25 grave guards
1 banshee
2 bat swarms

As the battle was about to begin, Plague lord Haskdrask ordered both tunel teams to dig and go for the banshee, each team in front of the grave guards, one on each side). He placed himself facing the opposing general. As he told his last prayers to the Horned Rat, the bringer of diseases of the old world, the undead army moved suddenly, with super-natural speed and the battle began.

t1

All advanced a little, the ghouls, swarms and banshee scouting more ahead. The vampire count casted with tremendous power, and his monks began to age and turn to dust. The thrall skellies number upped by 7. Haskdrask force began to slowly march toward the undead lines. Night runners started to quickly run to the left of the field, to try and go behind. The faint aura of faith that plague lord Haskdrask had was not enought to stop the aging of his fanatical warriors.

t2

Again, the undead horde marched forward, but with greater speed. A pack of ghouls even dared charge his trusty censer holders. 3 of the ghouls choked and the other 3 managed to kill 1, but they were quickly turned to pulp. The necromancer didn't like what he saw, and only with a blink of an eye, all 6 other censer bearers fell, dead. Haskdrask monks aged again, but he lost 7, this time. That was starting to hurt now. The banshee wailed at the slave, but with Haskdrask near, they suffered nothing. The night runner still did their best to go around. Bsb clanrats charged the swarm. The slaves in the middle put themselves right in front of the grave guard, forcing them to charge them or do nothing. All took their places to charge next turn. The leftmost clanrats started their manoeuvre to flank. Again, Plague lord Haskdrask couldn't stop the aging process.

t3

Some move from the undead, Skellies with thrall charged clanrats, who broke due to the greater numbers and were cut down and made the slaves panic, and they never came back, dragging the skellies way back in their zone. Grave guards pulverized the slaves, who fled, but seing the trap, he restrained pursuit. Ghouls charged the left censers, but being between 2 units, only 3 censers were in contact. The fumes dragged 1 censer and 2 ghouls. The last ghoul managed to poison 1 censer and the last one killed a ghoul. Against alkl odds, the ghouls held. The swarms lost 1 base and feeling confident (and in the rear), the bsb lapped around into the fray. Again, many monks were turned to dust by aging. Haskdrask now only had 8 companions left. The necromancer tried to summon a grand and powerful spell, but did a mistake and the winds of magic withdrew from the battlefield. The left monks charged the thrall zombies and the priest issued a challenge. He hit 2 times, but tripped himself with his flail and did only 1 wound. The thrall did not miss his chance, and with his magic weapon that made him hit easier, he felled him, but barely. The monks made a carnage and the zombies lost a few more. Clanrats reformed to swipe the flanks. The other slaves again blocked sight to the grave guards and the 1st block rallied, due to general Ld. The censers gasses killed all the remaining ghouls. Both tunel teams erupted, onre being right on and the other only paces away. With the help of the night runners, they started a manoeuvre to trap the banshee. The swarms were being lapped all around, but left with 1 wound. Bsb got a flurry of blows, but not strong enough to wound him. Rightmost monks charged zombies in the front, while the pcb's charged the vampire count's skellies, to prevent a flank charge on the monks. The zombies crumbles and after the dust settled, only 4 remained. With great efforts, plaguelord Haskdrask managed to stop the aging process, while placing himslef for a charge on the vamp count unit. The foul gasses put a wound on the count, and killed 1 skelleton. The 1 censer that touched the necromancer managed to put 2 wounds in him and felled him. 2 more tried on skellies, killing 2, and the one facing the vampire put 2 wounds in him, which his ward save soaked both. Then, it was the count's fury. With his magical sword that gave him more attacks, he single-handedly wiped the 4 censer bearers.

t4

The thrall in the zombies put 4 monks to death, while the monks fumbled and they were broken and cut down. Some ghouls charged gutter runners, who promptly fled. The banshee wailed at the other gutter, killed 2, but they held. His thrall skellies faced the flank and began to go were the fight was. Grave guards charged the slaves, beat them and again stayed where they were. Count's and skellies charged monks engaged with the 4 zombies. After the attempt to raise some more troops was dispelled, the count took out a wooden rod and invoked it's power, making all his troops strike first and re-roll their misses. Count issued a challenge and it was accepted by the champion, who was quickly put to death. The fight finished a draw. The swarms were finally destroyed, and the unit reformed to face the flank of the battlefield and the rear of the grave guards. The clanrats charged in the flank the now reduced thrall zombies and exploded them, overrunning in some ghouls. The gutter runners rallied. Plaguelord Haskdrask charged into the main battle and issued a challenge. The vampire count had nowhere to hide, so he accepted it. Hatred deep in him, he hit all 6 times, putting 4 wounds into the count. To his disbelieving eyes, the count ward saved him 3, but his trusty weeping blades did not fail him. The wound quickly spread and consumed the count. The skellies were all turned to dust and the zombies were beaten by the monks. The slave that rallied charged the banshee and killed it, even if they lost 2, and overran in the flank of the grave guards.

t5

The undead horde was now crumbling. The grave guards promptly wiped the slaves in their flank and pursued right into plaguelord haskdrask flank, who issued a challenge, but was refused. It was a good fight. His hatred kept him in the fight and managed a draw. The bsb clanrats moved to take possession of a part of the battlefield. Ghouls were beaten and cut down. Thrall skellies charged the full monk unit, but were beaten. Leftmost pcb's again struggle to come back into action, all was diying before them and the couldn't charge anything. Night runners shot into the fight, killing only a monk. The clanrats rear charged skellies with 4 gutter runners, the 2 other gutters charged their flank and the unit turned to dust. The grave guards broke Haskdrask and his few survivors, but he fled to safety.

t6

The grave guards crumbled again and charged back on the plague lord, who again fled, and was now near the safety of the woods outside the battlefield, but before going, he turned back to assert the situation. All was in his favor, now, so he turned back, bolstered his courage and stayed on the field.

The day rose on Zundap, only to see piles of rotting warriors everywhere. Surveying his forces, only 1 clanrat, 1 monk, 2 slaves and 2 pcb's unit missed. He kept much more forces than he anticipated, seeing the onslaught of magic that was going on in the early hours of the battle. Seeing that the crown he had didn't protect him much, he though about trading it for a warpstone charm and a ring of darkness, instead.

The battle saw him aged, but, he tought, with age come wisdom and power...
