So, after a few months of procrastinating, and a little bit of inspiration on this hands... I've purchased another pile of Green Stuff, and continue working on my current project. Check this out. (Original Verminlord shown for size comparison)

wow blink.gif

that's amazing, when ever i try to get green stuff to do that sorta stuff for it always ends up bad, but to do something on that scale and make it look good's just awesome

i think the head looks a little too big, but then who cares when it's that big and awesome looking. the only real problem is that if you ever use that in a game it's gonna attract more attention than bretonnian damsel in a breeding pit

can't wait to see how the glaive turns out happy.gif

Wow that is just incredible!
I love the pose, much better then the original model and he looks much more agile.

Hope the Glaive will turn out as good as the rest of him.

Just adding my wow, to the bunch.
That looks fantastic. Wish I could greenstuff with that sort of skill. smile.gif

How are you going to make the glaive?
I guess the tail will be easier to make. Well less challenging anyway.

Can't wait to see it finished and painted. biggrin.gif

I think his head just looks big because of the (myspace) angle of the photo, it looked proportionate during pictures of the earlier WIP. It really is looking fantastic; I love the armband thing. It makes the other one look puny. Forgeworld would do well to take a hint from this tongue.gif

What was the base for the miniature? You know, the weird tan plasticy thing? What is that and if its not a custom make where can I get it. Also are you just making this thing as a nice little addition to your collection or will it be legal by game turns, either way I want a VL now smile.gif

He sculpted the tan part himself using a different cheaper material. It's in another thread.

It is all hand-sculpted. I used Sculpey for the base because it doesn't set until you heat it up... good because it took several afternoons to get the body right.

I talked to the guys at the local GW, they said legally putting things on a larger base is totally fine and tournament legal (for all GW official tourneys), moving things to a smaller base is not. Technically I could use this in tabletop as the original is a 40x40mm base, and this thing is going to be mounted on something closer to 120x120. I might actually field it for HUGE games, but I just plan on setting it in my staging area to bring mojo and disturb my opponent.

I think that using lumps of really smelly cheese as your tunnelling markers would disturb my opponent far more.

It's looking really good mate.. and to be apsolutely honest you could probably get it on a chariot base, you don't have to be square.

You guys want Glaive? Here's the beginning.

user posted image

The blade is about as long as my thumb, the shaft is around 5 inches long, "wooden" and engraved with runes. The faces will cover both sides and be warpstone green and maybe glossy, the blade will be a scorched steel with glowing runes.

Any Ideas for the counterweight?
